So, let's begin!
Well first off, there are unlimited possibilities to scam players in the Maplestory community... you just have to find the right victim!
The one scam we will be discussing today is the infamous Zakum Helmet scam. For this scam to go down correctly, you will need:
1. Plenty of time to plan out and engage in your scam.
2. A willing friend to help you with your mischievous ways (may I recommend one that doesn't want a cut of the profits).
3. A Zakum Helmet. There are many ways to get around this (like saying yuo are your guild's merchant) but it is strongly recommended that your "partner in crime" has one.
Let's move on to the procedure.
Step 1.) Enter the Free Market and spam something along the lines of:
"Selling Zakum Helmet - REG or VIP - No noobs, serious offers please!"
That should attract some people.
Step 2.) Once you finally get a willing victim, it is suggested that you act very professional and that you have done it more than once. Try not to be too anxious or pushy, or it will give away the scam. Inform your victim of the prices for REG and VIP and offer if they would like to speak to a previous buyer.
Step 3.) If you're doing good, keeping calm, and being professional with the person, they should stay and want to make a deal. If they accepted the offer to speak to a previous buyer, that is when you invite your "partner" over and have him/her speak to the current buyer. Have your "partner" speak good things about you (loyal, trusting, gets the job done fast).
Step 4.) If they buy the REG price, than you should collect your money and log off for awhile. Boom, you made a "sale". If you are lucky enough to get a VIP buyer, ask them to log off for 1-3 hours and take everything off the account (equips, items, money, etc.).
Step 5.) It is strongly recommended that you never actually keep the account. Move everything on the account to one of your pre-existing accounts.
